Trade and Investment Mission to Korea 27 – 30 November 2017

A trade and investment promotion mission to The Republic Korea was organized by the Sri Lanka – Korea Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and 10 member delegation visited the Republic of Korea from 27th – 30th November 2017.

The mission was led by Mr. Mahen Kariyawasan, Chairman/Managing Director, Andrew the Travel Company (Pvt) Ltd , President of the Sri Lanka- Korea Business Council and was participated by Mr. Priyantha Mendis, Managing Director Alpha Tours Ltd / Korean Air ( Vice President – Sri Lanka – Korea Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce) / Mr. John Shiran Dissanayake, Chairman, Transmarine (Pvt) Ltd ( Vice President – Sri Lanka -Korea Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce)/ Mr.S.C Byun, CEO , S Light Technology ( Committee Member – Sri Lanka – Korea Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce) / Mr. Sanjeewa Wickramanayake, Chairman/CEO, E W Information Systems Ltd / Mr. Dayananda Weththasinghe, Chairman, Globe Commercial Agencies Ltd / Mr. Muhammad Bilal, Managing Director, HiEnergy Services Pvt Ltd / Mr. Mahendra Rupasinghe , Managing Director, Jaya Container Terminals Limited – Sri Lanka Ports Authority , Ministry of Ports & Shippping / Mr. Mohamed Lafir, Director, The Choice and Ms. Patali Karunarathne, Secretary – Sri Lanka – Korea Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce/ Manager – Business Councils.

The mission was organized in conjunction with the official visit of His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, to the Republic of Korea. During the visit of the delegation, Sri Lanka – High Commission in The Republic of Korea organized a business forum and one-to-one business meetings, thus giving an opportunity to the members of the delegation to meet representatives of the renowned Korean companies. During the visit the Council also organized a meeting with the officials of the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) to seek the opportunities to further expand the exports from Sri Lanka.
